Fan performance warning on ACF402 (Rack Air Removal Unit SX)

Why do I keep on getting 'ARU: Fan X performance warning' messages on the air extraction unit? They clear within 1 second. and then it happens again a few minutes later.

Am I supposed to do some maintenance on the Air Removal Units?!?

Richard.

Hello Richard. Does this alarm stay on just one fan or does it jump around to all the fans? If this is on one fan, make sure the fan is clean and spinning freely. See if any bearing noises are coming from the fan. You can swap the fan with another fan and see if the faults follow the fan or stay in the same slot. If the alarm is on one fan and the alarm follows the fan when it is swapped with another fan then this would point to something on the fan model starting to go bad. If the alarm happens randomly on all the fans, check the connections on the fans and on the electronics model (all this and steps above are to be done with the unit unplugged and no power going to it.) to make sure there is not a loose connection somewhere.

Thank you

It jumps to both the active fans, 1 and 4. 2 and 3 are not active. For example:

01/18/2017 15:12:18 ARU: Fan 4 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 15:12:18 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 15:12:18 ARU: Fan 4 performance warning
01/18/2017 15:12:18 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning
01/18/2017 15:05:43 ARU: Fan 4 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 15:05:43 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 15:05:42 ARU: Fan 4 performance warning
01/18/2017 15:05:42 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning
01/18/2017 14:50:51 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 14:50:50 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning
01/18/2017 14:42:55 ARU: Fan 4 performance warning Cleared
01/18/2017 14:42:55 ARU: Fan 1 performance warning Cleared

..........

Fan 1 Running Ok 1964rpm 639m3/hr
Fan 2 Off & Ok
Fan 3 Off & Ok
Fan 4 Running Ok 1981rpm 644m3/hr

Is there a guide to replacing the fans? I searched everywhere on the support knowledgebase, can't find anything about how to replace fans.

Thanks for your advice!

Richard.
