Does the APC AP7921B need a subscription

Does the APC AP7921B need a subscription to use the network services on this unit?  I'm thinking of getting a used item off eBay for my lab but don't want to buy something that need a software subscription to operate.

No subscription required but you better make sure the unit you decide upon is fairly current and not using a NMC 1 card.

A NMC 2/3 is fine as there are current firmware available. Which impacts your ability to use any modern web browser for access & control. 

Fully understand how to reset the user name & password if the previous owner has not set it back to apc! ☝️

You’ll need the required serial cable or make one you validated that works.

NOTE: Updating the firmware on any APC device is extremely dangerous. As such fully understand the processes and follow all best practices for doing so!

Thanks for your reply.  In the end I went with an APC AP7921.  Got it configured this morning using the serial cable and after disabling the cookie requirement on DHCP got it working fine on my network.  Cheers.
