I have been running a number of APC 450 and 750 UPS's using the Powerchute personal edition (with no issues).
I recently purchased an APC 1500XL SURTA smart UPS, which came with Business edition. When installing the Server, agent and console on a new PC the 1500XL was detected and worked fine. The business edition will not recognise the older 450 or 750 UPS's and the older personal edition software won't recognise the 1500XL UPS.
How can I manage multiple units with one set of software (either business or personal edition)?
Thanks in advance

Luke,
Running both app will cause a conflict. If you want to monitor a Smart-UPS and Back-UPS from the same system you can install PowerChute Personal Edition to monitor the Back-UPS and power down the OS. Then install a Network Management Card in the Smart-UPS to manage that unit over the network.

Luke,
PowerChute Personal Edition is designed to communicate with Back-UPS models and PowerChute Business Edition is designed to communicate with Smart-UPS. Your options for 1 application for both Back-UPS and Smart-UPS is Windows Native Power Options (see Knowledge Base document FA159647) or APCUPSD.

Thanks Bill, appreciate it. as i'm running XP in places have been using hyperlink. I guess my follow up question is: can i install both software versions on the same PC, so if i need to switch UPS's I can do so easily while keeping the great functions of Powerchute? but I can simply go and find out !!
Thanks again
