How about you tell me what specific model APC UPS you’re talking about for starters?!? 🤦♂️
As that would narrow down the possibility as to where to start in the trouble shooting process. 👍
Regardless, if I assume you have one of the cheaper models such as a Back-UPS. There are a few possibilities which are based on your reply of it being (plugged in the back) ???
Have you read the user manual about how to install the battery cartridge? The vast majority of the units require that you remove a protective sticker which covers the battery terminals.
Has this been done?!?
Other models you need to connect the battery cable to the cartridge whether it be a Anderson plug vs Molex connector.
In other models outside of North America there is a battery plug. This plug needs to be inserted / pushed in. Other models there is something that appears to be a fuse which also needs to be inserted / pushed in.
In the larger enterprise models there are breakers / switches that need to be toggled to the on position.
