Communication between two Smart-UPS SRT 5000
Question if it is possible. Our data cabinets have two Smart-UPS SRT 5000 which UPS A powers (power supply 1) of a cisco 9300 switch and UPS B (power supply 2). So my question is. Is there a way to configure this two UPS's to communicate with each other. So when there is a power cut, UPS A will signal UPS B to turn off the outlets. While UPS A is still running on battery power and when it reaches a threshold of 20% battery capacity, It signal UPS B to turn on outlet and continue providing power to the switch. What i am trying to achieve is longer running period for the devices inside the cabinet.

This is much easier to achieve by simply installing and using a hardware appliance such as a ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch). APC does not incorporate advanced conditional logic into their NMC to achieve what you’re asking for even in 2024?!?
Given the NMC 2 / 3 costs $400 - $600.XX plus! This is why software has been created to bridge this very simple need. Going this route obviously requires another computer system and adds to the weak link of things to break / support.
