Hi.
I purchased a brand new SMT750RM2UC and noticing that charging time is around 16 hours. Charge climbs rather quickly (under 4 hours) to 95%, but then to climb from 95% to 100%, the UPS takes about 16 hours or more. Is this considered normal? From the technical specifications of the UPS on APC website, typical charge time is 3 hours.
Do I have a bad unit? Or is this how the UPS is supposed to behave? Could anyone shed some light?

Hi Alex,
This is expected behavior, Smart-UPS charge their batteries using boost as well as trickle charge modes. The typical charging time usually refers to the initial boost charge to around 90-95% that is performed in 3 hours. This is followed by the trickle charge that slowly recharges the battery to 100% afterwards.
