Hello,
I have an APC Smart-UPS SRT 10000 and need to replace the battery.
Would something bad happen if I replace it while it's still plugged in and powered on?
Or do I need to shut down the servers and unplug the power from the APC first before replacing the battery?
Also, If you have any documents or a link to a video demonstrating the process of replacement, please share it with me.
More details:
Model: Smart-UPS SRT 10000
SKU: SRT10KXLI
Apparent Power Rating: 10000 VA
Real Power Rating: 10000 W
Battery SKU: APCRBC140

The battery cartridge can be (hot swapped) while the unit is fully operational. The only caveat of this is DO NOT attempt to replace the battery cartridge while there is an active power quality issue present!
As removing the battery cartridge during this time will cause the unit to immediately shut down. If you’re in doubt you can engage the bypass and this will tell the unit to draw power only from the AC Mains and ignore any power quality issues.
The battery installation manual has been appended here to assist you in this replacement process:

Hi!
Let's assume I have an APC SRT10KXLI and I need to change one or two batteries without cutting off the energy. My UPS uses APCRBC135 Battery Module.
Can I set it in Bypass Mode and complete the replacement taking into account my conditions?
Thanks in advance for your time!

Hi!
Let's say I need to replace two batteries while the UPS is on, because I can't loose power on my servers.
Can I set it on Bypass Mode and make the replacement?

I would check the manual to confirm before engaging the bypass if you intend to remove the battery cartridge. You can definitely remove it while on AC Mains (No Bypass) engaged.

Thanks for your response!
I checked the whole manual and the only available options are "On-Line", "On Battery", and "Bypass".
Also checked the LCD display and went through all the options, didn't find anything about AC Mains.
My team plans to turn on the generator and set it on Bypass Mode, while we do the replacement.
Another thing I learned reading the manual is that we need to change a Battery Module, not a Battery Cartridge.
Any advice will be appreciated!
