Hi,
I'm a solider currently deployed in Afghanistan and I have a SUA2200I UPS which has an AVR problem where if it has to boost/trim the voltage it cuts the output to the connected devices and all LEDs flash. What I want to do is console into the UPS and change the min/max setting of the voltage but for whatever reason I can't console in at all! I've tried both 9600 and 2400, hyperterminal and putty. Installed PowerChute and was hoping that would detect the UPS but to no avail. I'm fairly desperate here as our power and UPS situation is not looking good without the 2200 in circuit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ross

it might be a good idea to braindead the UPS to reboot it and see if that works. before doing that, i would also try a different computer if you havent just incase. lastly, make sure nothing is installed in the smart slot.
to braindead:
1.) Turn off and remove attached load on the UPS. remove any cables as well.
2.) turn off UPS
3.) unplug UPS from AC power
4.) hold down the off (o) button on the front of the unit for 5-10 seconds. you may see LEDs flash and a click.
5.) reconnect everything and retry. 2400 is the default baud for this UPS without any accessories. flow control should be none.

Wwallender, you're a legend! Powerchute Plus 5.2.3 detected my UPS no worries, thanks!
I picked a winna, I know this computer is good to console due to the fact I can console into our Sat modem and other devices. The braindead didn't work either but the Powerchute Plus software did which is strange.
I do have another question though, what is the safest min and max voltage settings (for the attached equipment) I could set to avoid voltage trimming/boosting? As the trim/boost causes my UPS to shutdown/LED flash.
Thanks again,
Ross

oh i see, you must have an AVR relay weld so that's why it fails.
here is the chart. for the ranges and stuff for transfer points: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/715
