Hi everyone,
I just got a brand new APC Back-UPS 650VA only a few hours age.
I've opened the battery door and connected the "red" wire to the battery as the menu said. And then I connected it to the outlet.
At first, the power button started flashing green light, then flashing red light with beeping sound.
I connected the usb cable to my computer and checked the PowerChute, it said "ups battery is disconnected"
So, I reconnected that red wire a couple of times, and the results were always the same.
Am I did something wrong or just unlucky?
Any idea will be helpful, thanks.

Make sure all connections are clean. Some times the sticker can fold in and cover a terminal. Also make sure that all connections to the batteries are pushed on and tight as well. Sometimes a wire can come lose or pop off during transit.
If all that is good, then you may have a faulty battery. If the unit is still under the 2-year warranty APC may replace it for you.
APC is not really good at reporting batter issues. What I mean is that they will tell you that something is up. But the alerting on that is not that good. There are at least 4 alerts that pretty much all mean the same thing (bad battery). Those can be "Battery disconnected", "Battery not connected properly", "At least one faulty battery exists", and "Battery pack disconnected". While these can also alert to other things they also popup when the battery is not holding a charge or can not support the load due to age or defect.
