BE600M1 Back-UPS

Hi,

  I have two BE600M1 Back-UPS, both of which are used with non-pc equipment (TV, router, lamps, phone, etc).  I have hooked up to each with PowerChute to set shutdown procedure.  The question: is the shutdown process stored in the UPS?  IOW, will the UPS shutdown according to the process I established for each UPS, or does the PowerChute software need to be in constant communication with the UPS.
