Hi. I'm currently in the process of rolling out a 'standard' config.ini file to around 100x NMC and NMC2 cards. I've already noted that the 'user' profiles are not copied over to NMC2 cards as a separate .csf file is needed.
However, when I upload the config.ini file (originally retrieved from an NMC1 card), I get many 'invalid value, invalid keyword, obsolete keyword and invalid section' errors. I also note that an NMC1 config.ini file is around 1470 lines long, yet an NMC2 config.ini file is around 1819 lines long.
Can the same config.ini file be used on both devices? Failing that, should I download the config.ini file from an NMC2 card and roll this out on both devices (and assume that an NMC1 card will generate errors for any new commands that are only specific to NMC2 cards?)
PS NMC AOS = v3.7.3, NMC2 AOS = v6.4.0

Hello Richard,
Like voidstar said, the errors are probably fine, they are just things that were in the gen1 card that are not in the gen2 card. I just want to add to what he said as well about deleting sections: basically, you only need to upload sections that you are trying to change. Uploading an "incomplete" ini file will not errors, it will just not change any section that you have not included in the file you are uploading.
Do you have a specific set of settings that you are trying to upload?

Ignoring the errors sounds reasonable to me. You can also delete sections and keywords that are not shared between the two.
