The APC SMT1500RM2UC does not have an Emergency Power Off (EPO) connector on the rear of the UPS. Is there a way I can add an EPO Switch to the unit, despite the fact that this function is not integrated into the product?

Short Answer: No
Long Answer: Lots of the main boards share similar design elements. As such some features are simply not enabled because the components aren’t populated inside the board.
Even if you found the EPO circuit inside the SMT that is only one aspect that needs to be present.
This also needs to be supported by the UPS firmware which it obviously doesn’t.
As a reminder the EPO circuit terminates all power from AC Mains & Battery Only circuit thus ensuring a completely powered down dead unit in case of an emergency shutdown request.

Thanks for the information. I decided on a different approach that helped resolved this issue. The UPS feeds a power supply in a test rack. However, the power supply has an internal relay connection that can be activated by the EPO switch. this worked better than removing power to the entire system, which was overkill for what we're doing.
Thanks again!
