Has anyone tried the serial networking setup w/ an APC7902 (rack mounted switched PDU) under Linux?
I connected up the 7902 yesterday to /dev/ttyS0 on a Dell PowerEdge 2850. Used minicom to setup the
port as 8N1 at 9600. No go. The documentation only talks about using the serial networking setup under
windows.
I'd appreciate hearing of any experiences with this.
TIA.
Al
P.S. Yes, I am working the 'arp -s' approach, too.

Al,
Have you tried the ARP command yet? If so, and you can't get to the web interface, chances are you're going to have to Hyperterminal into the card to get it running with all of the TCP/IP settings. Because of all of the extranneous fields that need to be configured for a terminal emulation in Linux cannot be replicated by a Dumb Terminal in Windows.
