APC Smart UPS 1500 with Dead Batteries!!
A coworker of mine recently gave me along with some other equipment, however the batteries are dead (exploded but I cleaned out the corrosion) since they hadn't been changed since 2009.
Is this considered a decent UPS?
Also is replacing the individual batteries inside the cartridge common practice for home use to save money? Or do people still recommend paying the money for the actual APC cartridge replacement?
Seems like a $65 vs $260 difference, so I figured it was worth asking.
