AP9631 terminal connection via console cable freezes after 5-7 seconds

Hello!

I have a SUA1500rmi2u unit with a AP9631 network management card where by mistake a Symmetra firmware has been flashed.

I have a NMC2 Console 2.5MM TO DB9F console cable and able to connect the following way:

Connections settings: 

> Speed: 9600
> Data: 8 bit

> Parity: none

> Stop bits 1 bit

> Flow control: none

I press the reset button on the management card and hold it ~25 seconds, then release and after ~ 10 seconds I start seeing some activity in the terminal, but after 5-7 seconds the connection freezes and whatever I type is not displayed in the terminal. Sometimes if I act fast I can go as far as changing the default password and dial a single command. What could be the issue that causes the connection to freeze?

You can try changing the baud rate to see if there’s a difference as outlined in this APC FAQ:

You can also try using Putty instead / Super Putty. 👍
