AP9631 network Detection Problem

Hi, I ve got an AP9631 on a SUA3000RMI2U

AP9631 has been obtained second hand, so unfortunately I don't have any special cables or software cd's..

I have downloaded Device IP Configuration Utility, connected my router via RJ-45 and tried several times, but I couldn't get any detection 😞

What can be the problem, any help? 😞

Hi,

I'd start by observing what the status LED (network/ethernet cable disconnected to make it easier) is doing. It is located to the right of the network jack. Let us know if it is amber or green and solid or flashing. The LED can flash slowly or rapidly so specify there. This LED will help us understand what state the card is in - DHCP mode, static IP, etc. It likely has a manual/static IP that doesn't fit your network scheme on it.

Assuming you'd just like to reset this to factory defaults, you can also do what we call a "format" and reset it completely to factory fresh (except it doesnt upgrade/downgrade to original firmware). If you just want to do this, then you need a paperclip or similar and then stick it in to the pinhole reset button. I recommend you hold the paperclip or tool to the top of the hole to best align it with the tiny button in there. Press and hold this button for 20+ seconds. If you're doing this properly, the status LED will flicker or pulse green and let you know to let go when it changes to amber/orange color. Then, the AP9631 will reset and go to DHCP mode by default when it reboots.

From there, you can connect it to your router which I assume uses DHCP. It should get an address and then you need to figure out what DHCP address your router gives it to gain access. I use a nifty app on my phone to scan my network for what devices have what IP if you can't log into the router. The device IP wizard will work for you here too after this is done. You can tell it to search for your router's DHCP range or for unconfigured cards if your router does not do DHCP. It shows the IP and hostname of a device. The AP9631's hostname will start with apc and then the last six characters of its MAC address like apcAABBCC for example. You can then log in using this address and assign a static IP if you want.

If for some reason you want to keep the settings, then I can share some other ideas.

Thanks a lot for quick answer,

I have reset and re-formatted the nmc  card, this time waiting 20+ seconds.

Amber light rapid flashed for a while, and then turned to slower green-amber pulse flash.

I have reconnected the RJ-45 cable and yes Router is  DHCP enabled, The led light turned solid green. I have re executed the Device IP Configuration Utility and my device detected this time 🙂

Thank you very much for the quick reply and best wishes.
