AP9210 Stuck in limbo! I can only login via serial, no telnet or WWW

I have an AP9210 that I lost the password to. I used the password generator to generate a password based on the serial, and that got me logged into the com port. I reset the IP, and I can hit it with a web browser, but the apc/apc username and password don't work. Also if I telnet to the address, it just says "connection refused". I find it strange that there is no "set username" anywhere in the configuration.

Anyway- what am I doing wrong? I even did a "reset eeprom to default values", and reset the IP and password again. Even tried a different IP on a different subnet. The website moved to the new IP, so I know the config change is applying, but apc/apc isn't letting me in. Any ideas?

And it also seems like I am not in "normal" operating mode. When the serial prompt comes up, it just says "Login:". I type "apc" and I am in. No "User Name" and "Password" prompts, just a single login prompt. And the menu looks different than it should. I have a small menu with 9 options. Where it seems like it should have 4 options (according to the manual). Right now it looks like:

APC www.apcc.com

MasterSwitch

***Main Menu

1. Outlets

2. Network Configuration

3. SNMP Configuration

4. Ping Application

5. Password Configuration

6. Console Configuration

7. Advanced

8. Factory Settings

9. Logout

Selection :

Help me out here, I'm going crazy, lol.

Hi Moe,

I must admit the Masterswitch is older than me - but I'd be very tempted to either dig through the network settings for hints on resurrecting ethernet, or hit Factory Settings to earn a clean start.

I literally tried every option in every menu. There just isn't much there. It's like it got put into "basic" mode or something. Looking through the manual, there should be 4 main choices with several sub-menus. This is like 9 super-basic options that do nothing for the ethernet side of things (other than setting the IP).

I think I figured it out.. Maybe...

Since this is a v1.0 firmware, it uses "apcuser" as the username on the web. That, plus "apc" as the password got me in. Just posting this in case anyone else runs into this issue.
