I have some AP7921 PDUs that have very old firmware and need updates. Unfortunately the firmware on the SE site comes as a Windows executable, and I have no Windows machines to run it on ( https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/SFRPDU392/switched-metered-rack-power-distribution-unit-firmware-r... )
Does anyone know where to get the actual AOS/RPDU files from, or how to extract them from that Windows binary, so I can upgrade via FTP (or over the serial port, or so on)? Or, can someone post them here?
Thanks!

Hello Dane
The ".exe" file is a self-extracting zip file, so a unzip command in terminal should let you extract the file and reach the .bin files needed for a ftp upload.
Example:
-> unzip apc_hw02_aos392_g2ats392.exe
Archive: apc_hw02_aos392_g2ats392.exe
inflating: apc_hw02_aos_392.bin
inflating: apc_hw02_g2ats_392.bin
inflating: config.txt
inflating: FW_Upgrade_R2.exe
inflating: iplist.txt
inflating: winftp32.dll
inflating: winftp32.lib
Best regards
Tonny

It's a long time since I had a self-extracting archive. Using unzip worked exactly as you describe and I was able to update the PDUs (and some of my UPS, with their relevant firmware) using FTP.
Thanks!
