one interface for complete home automation

hello every one,

we have a residential villa project where the owner needs to control all the systems from one interface.

systems are: 

KNX (Schneider)

intrusion and fire (there are KNX Gateways).

intercome (Control4)

Sound system (Control4)

cameras (IP, but don't know the brand name)

we already have a Spacelynk in this project.

is there a way to connect all these systems on one interface (eg. Spacelynk, or other SE products) this is important for me.

also, I am looking for alternating products from Schneider electric for future projects, if there is a link or brochure I will be thankful  (intercome, sound system, cameras, intrusion, and fire. compatible with SE smart system)

according to your thread it seems no problem to integrate the intrusion and firesystem within the UI of SE via the TouchVisu or the custom Visu.

Also the IP-Cams shouldnt be an issue in case you will get access to a videostream with a useable format.

Control4

- AUDIO: with the help of the Control4 KNX-Gateway it should be possible to control the sound at least in a basic way like play/pause/skip next/skip previous etc.. Maybe you will get somehow the songname and singername. Needs to be deeper analyzed,

- INTERCOME: I dont know the control4 system in detail but I think this will not be possible to have that directly in our interface.
At least in the way that you can just start the UI of the Touch or Custom-Visu independent from the enddevice which represents the Visu.

A workarround "somehow" could be the use of our 7" CTP (MTN6260-0307) where we could run the Visu with all topics above in one App and the Control4-Intercom-App (Intercom-Anyware/see link below) in parrallel.

Maybe this App works in the way that it pops up (over our interface) when somebody is ringing at the door and closes/goes in the background after a while of no use (our Visu appears again). But this must be tested before you propose it to your client!

Is there an intercom from SE compatible with the KNX or U.motion

Only video (mjpeg stream) but unfortunately no audio. We use a web based controller for the visu and that means we use the W3 HTML5 Standard, The only way to have intercom full supported is by using voip over webrtc, webrtc requires a WSS (secure websocket) and that brings the issue of certificates in place and a mandatory HTTPS usage.

This all makes it a very difficult solution to maintain as certificates MUST be coming from a CA (self signed is not accepted by modern browsers) and they expire at some moment.

I don’t think we will ever go this path..

We only support what browsers support native and that’s mjpeg, standards like rtsp requires a plug-in and we don’t support that (for obvious reasons). 

When the W3 standard is including them as natively supported by the browsers we will for sure add them.

At this moment you can include video as mjpeg, include audio as mp3, wav etcetera.

Voip is not supported and I don’t see it coming in the near future. Another thing that does not help is that the requests for intercom integration is declining massively and there are so many cellular solutions with apps available that customers don’t care anymore to have it build in the KNX system.

We do see requests for triggering functions when the intercom is used, with doorbird for example you can send a http command to the controllers remote api to trigger functions.
