Alexa Voice control in Wiser for KNX.

The much anticipated voice control functionality with Amaxon Alexa and Wiser for KNX is here!

The main goal was implementing the voice control functionality in a way that would facilitate the job for the end user, while reusing the platform we already have. By implementing voice control in the Touch 3.0, we achieve this by reusing the existing Touch visualization of the installation, there is no need duplicate the work and no need to create a dedicated special "voice control" application with confusing UI.

All voice control configuration can be set in Touch settings or directly on the widgets. We have added a voice control checkbox in the Touch Widgets so that the end user can enable voice control in those Widgets by himself with one click and by saying the magical phrase "Alexa, discover my devices".

To enable voice control, besides installing the latest version of the „Touch 3“ application, you must download and enable and the new „Cloud connector“ and „KNX IoT Type 3 API“ applications already available in the Marketplace.

Note: Please, backup an actual Touch 3 visualization before upgrade.

In this first release we support the most frequently used Widgets. As part of the evolution of Touch 3, we will add support of other Widgets and more functionality in future releases.

We have created a new Application note (AN002_104 Alexa Voice control) to guide you with the configuration of the voice control in your KNX installation. Please, get familiar with the application note before you start your configuration.

But Seems that Amazon Alexa and Wiser for KNX Apps not supported in all countries.

I hope to add google assistant and to support wiser for knx in middle east countries.

Regarding Google assistant the good news is that the development is also ready and we're about to start the field test now. If you would like to be a part of it please send me a direct message and i will explain you how.

We're looking for launching support for Google assistant very soon!

Fernando Zetina has an list of supported countries and those in a queue for Wiser for KNX remote App. When we get a request to add support for some country we can trigger an action. Countries need to provide some documentation like privacy notice, terms of use according legal in their countries.

Google assistant is going to be field tested soon and release after.

Does this feature only work on wiser for KNX controller?

I tried to register on wiser for KNX app using Spacelynk and HomeLYnk.

maybe this is my issue

Hello,

it works only on homeLYnk and Wiser for KNX. You have to have an access to Marketplace (available since fw 2.0) in order to be able to download APIT3, cloud connector applications and update Touch3.

Wiser for KNX remote App (smartphone remote App) is needed as well for cloud to cloud communication (SE <=> Amazon).

We recommend to use latest fw version to get the best experience and cybersecurity improvements.

Amazon are cool, but most of our customer use Iphone and ipad !

It's a must have function ! Amazon and google are most often for basic customer...

Lot's of product like thinka, abb, 1home do this and more (for exampleremote access of ets...).

Schneider should implement this, because it's the way the market goes...
