Problem upgrading Homelynk to firmware 1.3

Hi everyone,

I had a problem trying to upgrade the firmware to a Homelynk unit, the process started normally, but 20 minutes after, the Homelynk got freezed and never start again. I waited like an hour, then I did the reset procedure with the reset button in the back, but nothing happens. I tried disconnect and reconnect the power supply, but it still dead, the led 2 is on, but the led 1 is off and don't flash and when I try to connect with the webserver through the browser I have no response.

I have done the upgrade process with other homelynk units and never had a problem, so I don't know what could happen to this one.

Could you help me with some process to bring the homelynk back to live... a hard reset (different that the back button) or any other idea?

Kind Regards,

William

Hello William,

it is possible that you SD card has been somehow corrupted during the FW upgrade.

Is it possible , that you had some connection problem during the first few seconds of FW upgrade?

Best Regards

Tomas

Hello William,

you can try to perfom factory reset:

-press and hold reset button for 10s, release, and press again for 10s.

Can you find the production number of your homeLYnkM? It is the RN number on the sticker on the side of homeLYnk.

I guess that you have some older device with HW version 1.0.

If you can, try to open the homeLYnk case and check the SD card type.

If you have Kingston, it is very probable, that your SD card is damaged.

Regards

Tomas

Hello Tomas,

Thanks for your quick answer!!

I tried again the factory reset and nothing happens.

The production number of the HomeLynk is RN-2014-W28-196 - Versión V1.1 and the micro SD card is SAMSUNG .. any idea of how check the card? I insert de micro SD card in my PC and appear the message that I have to format the card (I think that is because the data type are differnet), so I don't know how to proceed in this to check the card.

Regards,

William,

Hello Thomas,

I'll check the Homelynk with a SD card from another Homelynk and let you know.

Kind Regards,

William

Hello Tomas,

You were right!! the SD card was corrupted and when I replaced it by the SD card from another HL the problem was solved.

I'll proceed to copy the image from the good SD card to the corrupted SD card.

Best regards,

William

Hello Willian,

Could you post the procedure you used to copy the SD image, if you get success on that?

Best regards!

Hello Paulo,

any procedure involving manipulation with SD card is not a standard way of use.

It should not be done normaly.

If you have problem like this, please contact me via mail and I will advise you by mail or phone.

Such problems should be proceed via technical support channel, not via forum.

Best Regards

Tomas
