MTN6309xx ARGUS and MTN6276xx Pushbutton ETS Parameter Settings

Hello Everybody,

I have an MTN6309xx ARGUS sensor and an MTN6276xx push button. I would like to use them in a specific way, but I need the ARGUS and push button parameters for ETS. Could you please help me with this?

The usage is as follows:

The fixture in a room will be controlled by a 2-gang push button where the top buttons will dim and the bottom buttons will turn on/off. However, there is an ARGUS sensor in the room. When activated through the button, the ARGUS sensor will be deactivated and the fixture will not turn off. However, when turned off through the button, the ARGUS sensor will be activated and the fixture will turn on when someone enters the room. Unfortunately, I couldn't make these parameter adjustments, and I urgently need a solution. Could you please help me?

Hi ErkinV,

I do not have the products next to me to test the configuration I have prepared.
But I think it will work like that.
Within the attached ETS-Backup you will find three products:
1x MTN6309xx
1x MTN6276xx
1x MTN6710-0102
Each with a minimum setup to focus on the solution we are looking for.
Please let me know if it works as requested and of course if not 😉

Kind regards
Thomas

Hi ErkinV,

you just need to adapt the current 4bit Obj against a 1 byte.
Then you can e.g. use Button 1 with 80%, Button 2 with 60% and Button 3 with 1 bit  = 1 (100%). All three buttons will activate the lock fct. Only Button 4 with 1 bit  = 0 (0%) will turn of manually the light and deactivate the lock fct..
Of course instead of the Dimm Act. you need to address the dedicated DALI ECG.

Kind regards
Thomas

Hi @Thomas_Rohde,

First of all, thank you very much for your efforts and help. However, there is a situation: I gave you incorrect information, which led to a different outcome, and we did not achieve the desired result. Our other module besides the button and ARGUS is the DALI Gateway (MTN6725-0101). We will control the luminaire via DALI, and our button will send the output through DALI. It will turn on and off from 0-100% with Push 1 and 2, and it will be ON/OFF with Push 3 and 4. When the button is active, ARGUS will be disabled; when the button is off, it will work from ARGUS.

Hi @Thomas_Rohde ,

In my system, changes have been made, and in my current setup, I have DALI fixtures with a dim value ranging from 0-100% (1 byte) in my rooms, and there are Argus sensors in the rooms as well. I’m not sure if what I want to do is possible, but here’s what I’m aiming for:

  • The 1st and 2nd buttons on my 2-gang switches will dim by giving a value between 0-100 (1 byte).
  • The Argus sensors will do the same.

When a person in the room activates the fixture via the button, the Argus sensor will not be active in any way. However, when the button is turned off, the Argus will activate if the light level falls below 50 lux. After the Argus has activated, if the dimming is adjusted via the button, the last value set by the button should become active.

Is it possible to create such a scenario? We’ve tried everything within our knowledge but couldn’t make it work. We are looking for your assistance, or if you have a different scenario in mind, could you explain how we can use it?

We would be very grateful for your help.

My ETS knxproj backup is attached.

Hello ErkinV,

I checked your project and I was also thinking in your direction when I saw your requirements.
The problem here is that the logic, inbuilt in this sensors, is not sufficient to handle this "more complex" logic.
It is easily done with the help of a script within W4K/sL but I dont know if you have these devices also within your project?

Kind regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Honestly, I'm glad that our sensor can't perform this function because we were thinking that 'it could be done through ETS, but we can't seem to do it.' We are going to use a W4K in our project, but we don't know how to do what you mentioned. We would be very happy if we can do it there.

Hello ErkinV,

sorry for the late reply!
Your requirements have not been super clear to me so I took some asssumptions.
E.g. how to handle exactly the second light?
I added also a function that a second Block/Channel within the MotionSensor (MS) will deactivate the lights when office user has switched on the lights but never switch off. So please configure the MS in the way you like in terms of times so that this function is not disturbing but still offers the comfort to switch off the light when nobody is detected maybe for 2 hours or similar. It will unlock also the first Block/Channel again so that the lights will go on automatically in case office user will return.
Attached you will find the needed script with a lot of descriptions/comments.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Kind regards
Thomas
