Hello.
I am simply wondering how EBO 2.0 will affect current applications developed with SmartConnector?
Will there be a new release of packages with the release of 2.0?
Will it be enough just to update the packages in the solution or will there be some major changes that we also need to rewrite some of the code for it to work with 2.0?
Also, will an extension developed with the current version of SmartConnector be compatible with 2.0? If not, will an extension developed with the upcoming release of SmartConnector be backwards compatible with SBO?
Also, if a new version is necessary for it to work with 2.0, will that version be released with 2.0 or will there be some delay on that?

Hi Karim,
Since most of the extensions written with Smart Connector, use EWS behind the scenes, whether it be the EWS Rest Provider, or a custom extension that either receives data from EBO or EBO receives data from a 3rd party system. Then unless EBO introduced bugs in EWS, it should all work the same as before. That said, before 2.0 is released, my team tests EBO's EWS implementations against Smart Connector, as well as many other Schneider Software that uses EWS to communicate with EBO. If anything is found that breaks this communication, this will be reported, and likely fixed in EBO before 2.0 is officially released.
The only place where you might have problems, is if you used the Workstation SDK (Which is NOT included with Smart Connector). To do some stuff.
Short answer: Everything should be compatible without an update to Smart Connector.
