PME and SmartConnector

Hello,

Is it possible to add a SmartConnector to a PME system?

What I want to achieve is to get data from a RESTful API, store it in history items / trend logs and get them into PME. So I want to consume data from a 3rd party cloud service and get it into PME.

Or is it a better aproach to have the SmartConnector integrated to SBO and then use the ETL tool to get the data into PME?

Hi Karim,

As far as getting data into PME, the only thing I know about that can do this for sure is the ETL. That said, in theory if you know the database scheme for PME, you can write a Smart Connector extension that pushes data directly to the database yourself.

Thanks, I will most probably go for the SBO and ETL alternative then 🙂
