I am unable to login to SmartConnector - can I reset the password?

Hi,

I am unable to login to SmartConnector. I tried to change the data in the Dbo.AspNetUsers table field LockoutAndDateUtc to NULL.

Is there a way to reset the password?

Thank you.

Mike

Hi Michael,

The below is how you 'reset' your password. Keep in mind, this will also remove all Smart Connector users as well. This will reset the users back to its default settings.

  • Stop the service
  • If the database configuration settings for “SmartConnectorDb” and “SmartConnectorUserDb” are referencing DIFFERENT databases, then simply delete the database that “SmartConnectorUserDb” is pointing to.
  • If the database configuration settings for “SmartConnectorDb” and “SmartConnectorUserDb” are referencing THE SAME databases, then drop all tables that start with “AspNet” (there should be five of them: AspNetRoles, AspNetUserClaims, AspNetLogins, AspNetUserRols, and AspNetUsers).  I’m not sure of the exact order but I do know there will be some FKEY constraints so if you get an FKEY error delete the referenced table first and retry.
  • Once the “users” tables/database is deleted, re-start the service.  The Service will recreate the Users DB with the default admin and password.

Regards,

-Jeff

Hi Ben,

The easiest solution is to uninstall and reinstall SmartConnector.
