Hi.
I'm simply wondering if its possible to access Systems folder on an AS/ES with SmartConnector?
The reason I want to do it is because we have some AS that are used as BACnet controllers and therefore not connected to any ES. This creates some problems with backup management in case of an error.
I want to develop and extension that can collect the latest backup file from an AS and save it to a folder on the server where SmartConnector is running.
Anyone have any ideas on this?

Hi Karim,
I have done some poking into this functionality, and found a way this could be accomplished with the upcoming release of SmartConnector (version 2.3). SmartConnector 2.3 is slated to be released Q4 of this year.
SmartConnector 2.3 will include an optional (licensed) feature that will allow more native access to SBO, so we will be able to do things like copy out Backup files without ever needing to log into the AS via workstation or SSH.

Hi Karim,
The integration points that SmartConnector has built in natively are generally for data exchange. So custom behavior like backups would not be possible with these native integration points.
What you are trying to do is to effectively do a 'save to disk' from an AS without logging into an AS or ES.. I am still looking into if there is an easy way to accomplish this, but at the moment I haven't come up with anything. My gut tells me there would be a way to do this though. I will update if I figure anything out!

Allright, thank you Jeff 🙂
Yeah, my idea was to create some kind of "Backup Manager Tool" for EBO where you can make lists with automation servers IP-address, log in details and frequency of backup-collection.
It would help alot if this was possible since we often use our AS-B's as BACnet devices under AS/AS-P.

I guess it would haha 😄
But it would help, today I got 10+ (and still increasing) AS-B that I need to manually log in to and collect backups on a weekly basis, takes quite some time and would be nice to automate instead.
