There’s a feature missing from the Wiser App: Away Mode is great, and has saved me some energy, but you have to remember to turn it off by hand. It would be really nice to be able to set a date and time at which away mode would turn off automatically, thus making my house nice and warm when I get home without needing to remember to do something manually. .

Hello!
Thank you for your feedback, we consider all user feedback very carefully in our ongoing app development. We have noted your suggestions as feature enhancement requests for future consideration.
However, I can suggest you an alternative by assigning a schedule to your heating system that will make your house nice and warm when you get home without even doing something manually.
Thanks,

The time applied to Away mode would be useful for holidays (returning 2 weeks from today) and ad-hoc events - e.g. going out to cinema and not back until 10pm.

Hello,
I agree with this idea. The absence mode is important. On the occasion of a weekend or a day of unexpected absence, it would be necessary to be able to indicate the date and time to allow Wiser to resume his program.
This evolution made it possible to enter a heated house without having to change the programming each time. Many other solutions allow this finer management of the return.
Thank you.

@Alfred_SE thanks for your response, but it's not a solution and shouldn't be marked as such.
Yes, I can (and do) create a special *heating* schedule when I'm away, but that's a weekly cycle and so if I'm away for more than a week it doesn't solve the problem. And it's non-trivial to copy and edit a schedule just because I'm away - that's too much time. But it's not possible to create more than one hot water schedule, so your suggestion doesn't work at all for hot water.
Perhaps I wasn't clear enough: I use away mode for when I'm away for several days - and setting an end date/time for away mode would mean that i can simply tell the system that I'm away for now, am back on such-and-such a day, and to turn the heating and hot water down/off for the duration.
MiGenie - your previous product - did this, I don't know why Wiser still doesn't.

Additionally, setting an end time to the away mode could also allow Comfort mode to take effect, so that the house was warmed up by the point away mode is scheduled to end. This would avoid turning away mode off too early and wasting energy, or too late (or forgetting) and coming home to a cold house.

A definite +1 on this from me too please.
Every digital thermostat I've ever owned had the facility to specify an away period and while I'm very pleased with the Wiser system I miss this feature.
I've coded my own using a scheduler and an IFTT callback but I'd be happier if it was inside the control box to avoid a connectivity issues resulting in returning to a cold house.

Hi
I've just asked for this too. But I see the request is marked with a solution, except that I don't see how the solution of setting a schedule would work. Is there a schedule setting that overrides 'Away Mode'?

Yes, definitely needed - the ability to say the system should switch to a mode at a certain date and time, and that it should switch to "Normal" mode (which would turn "Away" mode off) at another date & time.
Presently there is no button for "Normal" mode.
Presently returning from a holiday and turning off away mode relies on wiser maintaining it's internet connection ... we do know it drops out and doesn't reliably auto reconnect. To negate this on the home system, i have the boiler and wiser control running through a smart plug that i can use to power the system off for a few minutes or even schedule a 5 minute shutdown each night to power cycle the controller.

This feature is needed and the solution suggested by Alfred is not a real solution.

woould be great to see this feature in the future. I do not think this thread should be marked as solved.
The solution is not an option for extended periods of absence. As teh other posters have noted too.
I think there is a real benefit in adding this feature. Many thanks!

can I ask why this is marked as solved as there isn't a timed away mode? great that you are looking into it but until that solution is available surely it shouldn't be marked as solved.

I think what makes it worse is that MiGenie had this feature so I “lost it” when forced to “upgrade” to Wiser

It’s approaching two years since you “noted” this feature request. When is it going to be
possible to set an end time for away mode? (Like you could in MiGenie)
