EM Industrie (Rexel Switzerland) wins thanks to a (much) better service (kitting)

Plasmadiam SA, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, specializes in custom vacuum systems for industrial applications. The company faced a major challenge when it received an order for twelve control units for PVD thin-film deposition. The workload increased significantly, and the tight schedule made it difficult to manage the procurement and coordination of various components.

To address this, Plasmadiam collaborated with EM Industrie, which proposed a tailored solution: the “kiting” service. This service allows all necessary components for each unit (a nice Schneider Electric Industrial Automation kit) to be delivered pre-sorted and on time, from a single supplier. This approach reduced administrative burden, minimized the risk of delivery delays, and simplified logistics.

Even when changes were made to the kits during production, EM Industrie adapted quickly, ensuring the original delivery schedule was maintained. As a result, Plasmadiam was able to focus on its core business—manufacturing customized products—while improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Maxime Maire from Plasmadiam emphasized that having one reliable partner is more valuable than managing multiple suppliers, making EM Industrie’s service a highly effective procurement solution.
