P3U30 Protection Relay reading from TCP/IP

Hello, one of the products I use today, the P3U30 relay, has a fiber port. Can I connect it with a normal fiber ethernet converter or do I need to connect it with an industrial switch that supports IEC61850? If not necessary, can you share so I can make the necessary settings?

Hello onur1,

For many times we have been successfully connected P3 relays with RJ45 and IEC61850 protocol over simple media converter RJ45 to FO multimode or singlemode. On the other end was RTU, switch with sniglemode FO ports and many other devices without RJ45 port.

Hello sir,

thanks for your answer ,

P3U30 relay has Two ethernet port and provide TCP IP communication protocol  which I couldnt get my pc   communicated over Fiber media converter? I tried every possible way that include switch usage, industrial switch usage  and ethernet ıp setting change. But  I couldnt reach to success.

Do you have any advice for this situation?

Sincerely,

Hi Onur1,

What type of communication you are trying to do? To reach settings over back (Ethernet) port, IEC61850 protocol or some other protocol?

Did you set up Ethernet parameters on the relay over front USB port?

Sir,

I am gonna use modbus tcp ıp communication protocol. I did all setting over front  usb port by easegery pro  program. But I couldnt get my pc communicated. over fiber port.  The main problem is which I noticed on fiber media converter fiber link light is not blinking but I saw ethernet  port 1 occupied on easegery program. I checked fiber patch and media converter  is working or not and no problem at all. I tried to send a ping over my pc to protection relay and  I made all Ip setting for pc and relay against  your possible question.

Sincerely.

Hello Mr. Ivan,
You asked me, was my Fiber Ethernet port 100m fd? Was your media converter compatible with sfp and relay?
Here is the answer, I used media converter compatible with multimode sfp based on 10,100 and 1000. But the most important thing is,
should my relay and sfp combined in my media converter be the same as 100m.
