Hello T_Parks,

Good question. In Short; If were talking about smart grids, were talking about how to get the power, energy and sustainability for our buildings and traffic in the future under control without having to have a huge budget to change or adjust excisting electrical grids (Using smart measurements and controlling units with communication for instance). The new green solutions of today, like Solar panels and windturbines have a place in this as well.

Be noticed though, this blog/article is more specifically about the US market. However this doesnt mean its entirely different with the challenges we have in Europe as well.
