Hello @geir_eas_no_bfo ,

Goal of the Panel Server is to replace all previous following gateways:

  • Com'X210/510 (replacing EGX300)
  • Link150 (replacing EGX100)
  • PowerTag Link (Replacing Smartlink SID)
  • Smartlink SIB

Hardware of the Panel Server does not allow to integrate a dedicated port to stack IFMs through TRV00217.

This was not possible by design. Do not forget that Panel Server integrates a specific chip dedicated to Cybersecurity. This take more place on PCBA for a footprint identical to the IFE. IFE is cybersecured through its FW updates.

To connect IFM to Panel Server, we recommend the same adapter as the Link150 / IFM.

IFE is still commercialized and maintained because this is the gateway dedicated to breaker ULP system. IFE is both ULP to Modbus TCP and Modbus Serial to Modbus TCP gateway. IFE allows you to optimize breaker system design:

  • you can stack IFMs on IFE dedicated rear port
  • IFE has 2 ULP ports => you can connect 1 breaker + 1 I/O module  + 1 FDM121 display
  • IFE (and IFM) has a specific dataset to quickly access essential information and optimize communication with the breaker

IFE is not compatible with Energy Hub.

Knowing that, you can choose the better gateway for your needs.

Hi Romain,

Thanks for the detailed good answer as always:)

Still think that modbus slave port could be more efficent on the PAS, with RJ45 connector and some emty space/slot so PAS could stand next to IFM without a gap.

PAS is unfortunately still no 1 to 1 replacment for ComX, as it can not send CSV over e-mail.

(Creates many replacement issues, where ComX sends csv-data to third party systems)
