Overvoltage control

Hello all,

I am writing a paper on the maximization of DER integration and associated overvoltage control. I am looking for some expert opinion on the following matter:

In the time-series analysis scenario; where DERs are integrated, the network nodes might experience overvoltages for short time spans before the voltage comes down below the threshold. My question is, for how long in actual time units, the overvoltage scenario can be allowed in the actual systems. I am looking into the technical reports or papers but they all mention the actual voltage units but not in terms of time for which the overvoltage might be accepted before the tap changers can take action. I would really appreciate any help or a hint towards the direction where I can find some standards to justify my findings.

Thank you very much for taking your time.

Best,

Asif

Hello @Anonymous user ,

you can find information in the following standards:

 - in figure 44.A2 and Table 44.A2 in Clause 442.2  of IEC 60364-4-44, or

- in figure 12 and Table 5 in Clause 10.2.2.3 of EC 61936-1

Best regards.

Hello @Anonymous user ,

in complement of @Anonymous user answer, you should also have a look at EN 50160 about Power quality.

In addition, have you check here? 👇

Hope it helps...
