ISFL fuseways

Good morning,

Can some from Schneider contact me regarding ISFL fuseways?
i’m looking at feeder pillar applications, these fuse ways are not too common at present in the UK.

Hello @Peter_Hall

Regarding your question about the CT's voltage supply:

The FuPacT internal CTs do not request any voltage supply (self-powered)

As a result, there is no internal connection for voltage supply pickup so if you want to meter the energy, you will have to take it from the busbars.

Regarding the metering device, you are totally right: it is better to use the “empty plastic box” as shown in page B-34 (see pict below)

Catalog Capture B-34.JPG

However, for an ISFL160, the dimensions are 46x46.

Unfortunately, a PowerLogic PM8000 is 96x96.

So it cannot be adapted on a FuPacT ISFL160.

As a result, I suggest you to use an ISFL250 (with its "empty plastic box") that would be able to welcome a PM8000 (96x96).

Also, let me share with you the link toward the FuPacT 2020 catalog here

(We then could be aligned on the pages 😉)

Hope this answers your questions.

Do note hesitate to come back to us....

Hi Julien,

Thank for coming back to me.

We are especially interested in how to fit metering to the fuse ways. It would appear that we can fit CT's (or a single CT) into the 'body' of the fuse way to achieve a neat solution. We can then meter via a DIN96 device in a housing on the fuse way. Our customer is looking at one of your PM8000 series meters. Will these fit?

Best regards,

Peter Hall.

Hello Peter,

Your question is quite interesting one...

To get a chance to answer it, we need to feed as accurately as possible (and I know you are looking yourself for additional clues)  whatever  about mechanical integration of Fuse with CT's.

For time being, looking at ISFL160 instruction sheet, we can't understand how  integrating CT.

=> could you tell us please which CT and how you would mount it within ISFL160?

Then, though it is not as important topic as above one, would be useful to know if you would go for :

  • embedded display PM8000
  • or would a remote display version OK?

Best

Good afternoon Jean,

Thank you for responding to me.

Looking at your FuPact catalogue there appears to be 2 solutions for CT's to fitted to the ISFL160 fuse way. Either:

1. Single pole 150/5A Class 1.

2. Three pole 150/5A Class 1.

The above are shown on page A-52.

How do we pickup a Voltage supply from the fuse way? Is this via the main busbars? or is there an internal connection?

In regard to metering. It would be preferable to mount the power meter within the 'plastic box' as mentioned in Page A-60 of the catalogue. Is this possible with the PM8000? (our customers specified meter).

Best regards,

Peter Hall.
