There are several wiring schemes for star delta motor starters with different location for overload protection:
When the overload protection is located before the Star-Delta connection as in figure 1 and 2 the overload protection shall be adjusted according to the motor full load current at main system voltage
When the overload protection is located inside the delta as in figure 3, the overload protection shall be adjusted according to motor full load current at main system voltage divided by 1,732.
