Electrical fire didn’t trip breakers?

(4 pics) Last night I went to bed with a wire cat toy on my nightstand. At some point in the night it must have fallen behind my nightstand and lodged in between my phone charger and the outlet (see pic 3 if this doesn’t make sense). I got up to get some water and came back and noticed my phone wasn’t charging, so I went to plug it back in and a white light and loud noise filled the room. I was mostly asleep and confused so I tried moving the charger out of the way and the same thing happened. By now I was awake so I turned off the breaker for the room.
