BMS Control of NSX MCCB's Fitted With Communicating Motors

Good morning,

Is there a white paper/information details available on how to control NSX MCCB's which are fitted with communicating motor operators by the BMS/SCADA system?

We are seeing a number of projects which are requiring load shedding/re-close of devices by the BMS/SCADA system and it would appear to be a lot simpler to control this via either RS485 or TCP/IP connection than traditional wired I/O points.

Hello Peter

You can find all information about Circuit Breakers With Communicating Motor Mechanism on this document page 56

BSCM and NSX cord are needed and you must to pass true communication devices from Enelin'X function to connect it to a Scada (see Page 149  on compact NSX catalogue)

Thank you Gregoire, that is a great help.

Just need to convince consultants now that it can be done...

Best regards,

Peter Hall.

That could be interesting.

Although we are seeing enquiries at present that open the MCCB's on loss of supply to the busbars. Therefore a 230VAC UVR is needed. If a 230VAC UVR is used it would be quite simple to supply the motor from this supply.

A 24VDC option would need a separate DC supply bringing into the panel as the ULP supply could not be used as it is limited in its rating.

A tricky one. On one hand it would be convenient, but in this application maybe the 230V supply is just as convenient?

You are right,

It depend if they use micrologic 5-6-7 with external DC Supply or not.
