BME H58 4040 problem with STBY and status EIO_ERROR

The issue concerns the H58 4040 controller and the fact that the STBY (physically B) controller reports multiple occurrences of the REMOTE_HSBY_STS.EIO_ERROR bit throughout the day, indicating that the STBY controller does not detect any EIO drops. I swapped the controllers A->B, meaning I switched PRIMARY<->STBY, and the problem moved from controller B to A. It's worth mentioning that the firmware version of the controller is 02.90 - 5. The question is, how can this problem be resolved?
