I am a programmer and automation technologist for an OEM. We ship our equipment worldwide. We want to be able to accommodate the different measurement units in our HMI or PLC code. This will make the user experience better.
What is the best way to scale or display the values dynamically? eg We want to have the user to be able to select pressure units, kpa, PSI, Bar in the HMI configuration menu.
1) Is it best to change the scaling of the FB that handles the analog inputs but then figure out a way to have the units properly displayed? Which likely would be a multi-state lamp of some sort.
2) Is it best to run the variables through a calculation...may even create a duplicate table of values for the HMI to select from.

The answer is to use the UnitConversion object in the Machine Expert Tool Tree. See attached image.
