Communication Issue Between M580 PLC and HMIS6700 HMI Over Ethernet
I am currently working with a Schneider Electric M580 PLC and an HMIS6700 HMI. I have developed my PLC program using EcoStruxure Control Expert and my HMI application using Operator Terminal Expert. I have linked the HMI variables to the PLC tags and connected both devices via Ethernet. I have carefully followed all the steps outlined in Schneider Electric's online tutorials, including enabling the Data Dictionary option in the CPU project settings.
However, I am facing an issue: the communication between the PLC and the HMI over Ethernet is not working. I am able to successfully download both the PLC and HMI programs, but the problem persists at the communication level between the CPU and the HMI. When I force the PLC variables while in RUN mode, there is no interaction on the HMI. Additionally, buttons and objects that are linked to CPU variables do not appear on the HMI, which I find very strange.
I have checked the following:
- The PLC and HMI are on the same subnet.
- The HMI variables are correctly linked to the PLC addresses.
- The communication settings in both the PLC and HMI match the chosen protocol.
Despite these checks, the HMI does not display the expected values from the PLC.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Any suggestions on what could be wrong or additional troubleshooting steps I should take?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Achraf ,
I have done this video a few years ago related to the connection between EcoStruxure Control Expert and HMIST6xxx , please take a look and check if something is missing in your process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRxzNHomATU

If you are using Control Expert v16.x please check the configuration in security tab for the "Engineering Link Mode" try to use first "Full Access" to test if it works (do not use the "Enforced").
Best regards,
