M580 Time Parameters
Looking to do some time based functions on an M580 with hot standby.
Looks like the controller operates on UTC. Trying to find the UTC Offset that it is using, and the selection of Daylight Savings Time.
The RRTC_DT function seems to take this into account.
Are these values brought out in system words somewhere?

hello @mmaliga ,
In runtime, the %S58 get you If the application is configured to support the adjust clock for daylight saving, thissystem-managed bit set to 1 indicates that the current date is in summer time. In program, you have to check the Tools\Pragram Settings.
Take a look the "System Bits and Words
Reference Manual" document.

Thank you. This document aligns perfectly with the product help. I know when you set up the NTP server, UTC Offset, DST Start and Stop are part of the configuration. Are they not in system words? I just can't imagine that, although I cannot find them.

This information is not available
right now, unless the application needs this information.
But if you configure these parameters, you know about them.
unfortunately I can't help you sorry

There is no direct information available about UTC offset but you can easily calculate it. Use RRTC_DT block as a source of local time. Use %SW51 as UTC time. Subtract them and you have an offset. This along with %S58 system bit provided by Ricard should give you all the information you need.

Yes, the application needs the information. And yes, I know what these values are. I have added variables to handle them. I was hoping to not have to change these things in multiple places in the same controller.
