Integrate Foundation Fieldbus field devices to EcoStruxure solutions for Oil&Gas
Originally published on Industry 4.0 Blog by SoftingSIA | November 08, 2019 12:49 PM
Softing, as the recognized leader in FOUNDATION fieldbus technology, presents the FG-200 gateway:
Designed for mapping the Modbus communication protocol to FOUNDATION fieldbus, Softing‘s FG-200 gateway offers the possibility to renew and expand legacy plants in the process industry by modern and highly functional segments without requiring substantial changes to the main installation. Therefore, plant operators can use state-of-the-art technology to increase production capacity while saving costs, protecting their investments, and making optimum use of the achievable lifetime of their installations.
Technical Features:
Integrate up to four FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus (FF) H1 segments (each for max. 16 field devices) into control systems supporting Modbus TCP.
The FG-200 provides device redundancy (D-3 according to FF-593) for avoiding the cost of downtime that can be substantial and may quickly run into the millions for a large plant in the process industry.
Suitable for use in hazardous areas (cULus: Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, IECEx: Ex nA [ic] IIC T4 Gc, ATEX: II 3G nA [ic] IIC T4 Gc), it offers intrinsically safe device segments.
FF Configuration Tool for configuration of devices and cyclic communication included.
Support of Field Device Tool (FDT) frame applications for central field device parameterization, comprehensive diagnostics or Asset Management.
