During a rack ATS (AP77XX) firmware update through IT Expert or other means, permanent damage to the device can occur if there is a load attached. The ATS switches back and forth between power sources during the update, which causes loads downstream of the device to drop and causes permanent damage to the rack ATS.
To update the firmware on affected rack ATS devices through IT Expert, you are required to indicate that you understand you must disconnect the secondary input power source before applying the firmware update.
