TCP/IP M172 connection with aveva scada

Hello,

I'm a novice in M172 development, I develop a program with a TM172PDG42SI. I fill all IP adress in PLC. I have a dedicated WLAN network with all PLC in my site (most of them are M340). The project is to get the datas from TM172 PLC to Aveva scada system.  I have a problem to access the port 502, when I ping the adress it's ok but when I ping the port 502 with doctormodbus the connection failed. Why the port 502 is blocked (the port is open in WLAN network side) ?

Do I miss a parameter in my program ? Did the TM172SI module is mandatory to communicate with the WLAN  or the ethernet port of the TM172 is enough?

Thanks a lot

Hello All,

I contacted Mr. d'Halluin, who had already found a solution to his problem.

Training on our offer is planned for the near future. Thank you.

Hello,

The process shown in the first two attached images can be done using a USB cable (if port is not 502). However, if you do not have a mini USB cable and prefer to connect directly via Ethernet, please click on this link  to access the web server. Then, under the Ethernet tab, change the default value from 65536 to 502.

The image shown at 2:50 in the video link corresponds to image 3 in the attachments.

By default, the Modbus port is set to 65536, which means it is closed. When you ping the device and receive a response, it indicates that your cable is functional and the connection is made to the correct device but it does not confirm that the Modbus protocol is active.

If you’ve tried all these steps and still can’t read any value from the device, I recommend connecting your PC directly to the device without using a switch or router in between. If communication works in this setup, the issue is likely related to the switch or router management.

I hope this helps resolve your issue.

In case of a brand new controller, it is also required to change the web password to enable the other ethernet protocols.
