Geo SCADA 2022 Operating System Support

It is strongly recommended that systems running on server hardware need to use the Windows Server operating system. Server operating systems are designed for servicing entire systems rather than individual computers or small networks and so are better suited for larger SCADA Server or Web Server systems with more than two clients.

Systems running on desktop hardware should run desktop operating systems such as Windows 10 or Windows 11. Desktop operating systems are designed for user interaction on the computer on which they are installed.

Desktop operating systems should not be used for SCADA Servers or Web Servers with more than two clients as the TCP/IP security measures in these operating systems can cause significant delays.

Refer to the following table for supported Operating System versions:

	64-Bit Operating Systems (ViewX client, SCADA Server and Web Server)
Desktop Hardware	Windows 11 (Professional and Enterprise editions) Windows 10 (Professional and Enterprise editions) Version 1809 and above.
Server Hardware	Windows Server 2022 (Standard and Datacenter editions)  Windows Server 2019 (Standard and Datacenter editions)  Windows Server 2016 (Standard and Datacenter editions) Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard and Datacenter editions)

Use of Geo SCADA 2022 WebX requires Internet Explorer 11 for web-based operation. The new Virtual ViewX User Interface is accessible from any up-to-date HTML5 browser on various types of desktop, laptop, tablet or large format phone.

Windows 10 and 11 versions supported are limited to those within Microsoft's support policy for Pro and Enterprise at: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet

The Virtual ViewX Web server available in Geo SCADA Expert 2020 is 64-bit only and therefore not available to install on 32-bit computers.

Virtual ViewX may be used only on these Operating System Versions:

• Windows 11 (Professional and Enterprise editions)
• Windows 10 (Professional and Enterprise editions)
• Windows Server 2022 (Standard and Datacenter editions) 
• Windows Server 2019 (Standard and Datacenter editions) 
• Windows Server 2016 (Standard and Datacenter editions)

The original WebX is still available for 64-bit server computers. IIS WebX from Geo SCADA 2017 R3 may be used on a separate server to permit access to a Geo SCADA 2022 system.
