One of my customers asked me how to collect a temperature sensor to an already installed EGX300?

If the temperature sensor is capable of communicating via Modbus, you can connect the sensor on the EGX300's RS-485 serial port. You can then create a custom device type using the Custom Device Type Generator to view and log data from this device.

Many ways to do that and it really depends on the temperature sensor. If it is Modbus like the CWLP from Veris, use the custom device type generator and you're done. Only problem with that is that Modbus temperature sensors are typically a little more expensive.
If you have a 0-10V. or a 4-20mA, you will need some sort of Modbus converter in between. For example, you can use the AI (Analog Input) of the SIM10M as described here. However it can get messy/tricky.
Frankly speaking, taking cost into consideration, I would replace the EGX300 by a Com'X200 which has two Analog Inputs. You can wire your 0-10 or 4-20 directly in, and you're done!
If you have many many sensors, then you should look at using some stuff from the building BU (maybe using the GW and EnOcean sensors....)...

I agree with you. But it also depends, whether Maxence needs the capability of the EGX300 to show realtime data and logged data over the integrated web server or not (as the Com'X doesn't has this capability).

In Italy, we have connected a temperature sensor to SIM10M. There are two way for to connect the temperature sensor to analog input of SIM10M. The features of the analog input of SIM10M are:
0-10 V with resolution of 0.01.
The featuring of the analog input implies two possible connection between devices:
1. if you use a PT100 you need a Crouzet convert to convert the current signal of the sensor in the corresponding voltage signal;
2. if you use a sensor with output directly in voltage, you can connect this one to analog input of SIM10M.

Hi!
We did this configuration before and we choose an OTB. OTB is a I/O distributed device which can communicate in ModBus protocol and you can add on it a card for analog inputs (4-20ma, 0-10v, pt100, pt1000, etc..). Then, in the EGX300, you can configure a custom device to communicate with the OTB.
