Reading digital input S1 status with EPC custom model on PM8240

I have tried reading S1 status with EPC custom model on panel server without success.

The address I read are 2400 and 2401 16 bit or 32 bits integer.

I can see 2401 bit 0 changed status on modscan but not EPC custom model.

Anyone tricks I need to do?

Hi @RWG924,

Panel Server "Read Registers" tool is using the Register Number of the PM8000 (UINT32 2400).

But Custom Models based on EPC-Web tool must be designed with Register Addresses (= Register Number - 1):

Try to put "Register start Address" to 2399 INT32U in a Measurement of your custom model.

Hello @RWG924 ,

Did you try the "Registers Read" feature of the Panel Server ?

This should work without custom model implemented. Check if you can read register of your PM8000 DI status directly from Panel Server.

Thanks Romain. The reason I use Custom Model is to create an alarm enviroment for the digital input .Hence I need to embed the DI status via high level inteface. I have no problem reading the staus via modscan nor panel server.

Hello,

Modscan is using "address" in place of "register number". Never ending discussions.

As highlighted by Romain pay attention that embeded modbus diag tool is using register number whereas EPC is using register address.

Hi @RWG924 ,

Guillaume is right. This topic is never clear...

Some tools will work with the Register Numbers, some others with the Register Addresses. Some tools are confusing because they have an "Address column", but you need to put the Register Number to read Modbus data...

Most of our manuals are up to date. Register addresses are written in Hexa, and Register Number in Decimal.
