I'm trying to figure out how best to read the 15min average of a fast changing analogue input with a Com'X 200/210.
I have a 4-20mA signal that changes quickly (it could vary many times a minute), but I only want to read it every 15min. As far as I know, I can only sample the instantaneous value of that signal with the Com'X -- but what I actually want is the average value of that signal over the sampling interval. I need something that will calculate for me the "sliding window" average of the last 15mins.
Any suggestions? Has anyone had to do something like this before?
I could use a small PLC, but I want to keep it simple and not have any programming or complex configuration to support (this will be used many times over in many sites).

Hi Mike.
So, maybe one option...you could schedule the "Environment" Data Logging parameter to log the temperature every minute. You could then publish the logged data as a .csv file. Once in Excel, you could take the average (perhaps use a macro). In the current version of the Com'X, you would only be able to publish every 1 hour at the fastest.
I would also imagine a custom web page to do this inside the Com'X 510 once we add "Custom Web Page" support (~ end of Q1 2016).
