Good day,
Our customer has an EGX300. They have PME 7.2.2.
They will install ION8650 power meter and hook it to PME. The distance of the power meter to the network switch is 350 meters.
RS485 will be used since lan cable is only for 100 meters. The protocol is ION since the ION8650's data is limited to Modbus RTU protocol
My question is, can the EGX300 be used as a converter only?
I know EGX300 doesn't support ION protocol.
Thank you,
Josef

The short answer is no. If EGX300 is used, ION8650 will only be reached through ModRTU.

The Link150 (Commercial Reference EGX150) is new on the market and has an update coming in April that can pass through the ION protocol from Serial to Ethernet. Talk to your Schneider Country representative to see if it is launched in your area.

This is from the specification document. So I assume that the "Powerlogic" here confirms the converter capability, am I right? Thanks!

Link150 can support Modbus and Powerlogic (Symax) in the same daisy chain.
In the next firmware version you can put the Link150 in ION pass through mode and it can pass through ION from serial to Ethernet. This mode does NOT support Modbus or Powerlogic. You must have either a Modbus/Powerlogic or ION daisy chain.
