I have commissioned a ComX 200 onto the network with some meters and have been waiting for the network point to be added to the Vlan.
This has now been done and this morning I noticed the ethernet port 1 was not allowing Modbus data onto the port - so i changed the setting and after a short while rebooted.
It is now hanging with the "This box is rebooting" message on the web browser.
It has remained in this state for about 9hours (I was working remotely via a vpn connection onto the site)
Is it a case of returning to site to fix the issue, or can a remote reset somehow be performed - which is the preferred option as it is a 230mile round trip from the office

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the frustrating world of Com’X....
Can’t you get a FM bod on site to power cycle the Com’X? That usually solves it. It’s a day trip otherwise.
Kind regards.

Sorry for the long delay in replying.
That is one option - but I have an easier one! I'm going back to the same site this week to change some IP addresses on some other ComX's which the client decided to change after it was commissioned

Hi Mark,
Our support should be able to take a look remotely if you can get them IP access. Can you open a support ticket?
Best,
Colton

Thanks I sorted it on Monday as I had to go back to sort some heat meters on the same site.
Interestingly I also found that the ComX was powered via POE - so had to remove both power sources - I guess this isn't an issue?

Hi Mark,
Glad to hear its working for you now. The PoE can be used as a backup power source, so the ComX being able to swith between power sources is a feature!
Best
Colton
