Com'x 200 solutions with Multiple Digital/Analog Inputs? Modicon OTB?

We have an opportunity in which we would like to use the Comx 200 to master a small number of Modbus meters, and with ~10 pulse meters (digital input) and ~8-12 analog input sensors.  Values will be imported into PME to provide the customer with real-time values and historical analysis of performance KPI's.

Currently, we are considering the ComX 200 with SIM10M but I realize we could need as many as 6 SIM modules for a site with 12 analog sensors (assuming for standardization we always bring these values via the SIM rather than using the two available on the ComX).

While this might be somewhat inefficient, the devices are relatively inexpensive.

had suggested using the Automation Server with I/O extention, but we're avoiding this right now to ensure that the teams managing roll out are working with one family of technologies and skill sets.  However, in Laurent's post he mentioned the Modicon OTB as a possible solution.

Does anyone have experience with this device being read by the ComX?  How difficult is this to setup ?  We are looking at a project with approximately 30 sites, distributed globally, so we need a fairly "industrialized" solution that can easily be deployed by a number of different teams globally.

Any comments or input regarding the simple solution of just using multiple SIM modules to adequately cover the require analog inputs?

Hey Shaun! 🙂

On top of the Zelio smart relay that we already discussed, you can also look into the M171. They both work as Modbus slave and will provide tons on I/Os for very cheap! 🙂

The Zelio has been around forever. It works great and can have embedded relays up to 12A. Also has a modbus TCP optional module.

The M171 will have relays up to 8A, but communication wise, it can also talk Bacnet MSTP/IP (and work as a Modbus Master), but since you want to connect it to the Com'X200, you should simply use the default Modbus Slave which if I remember well is embedded right in the default box.

Good luck! 🙂
